Ruth Senseney Stratton

BEDFORD – Ruth Senseney Stratton, 59, went to her eternal home surrounded by her loving family, on July 31, 2015, af­ter a sudden illness.

She was born in Buffalo, NY on September 29, 1955, a daugh­ter of Morton and Jane (Nichols) Senseney. Ruth at­tended Houghton College in NY, and graduated from the University of Rochester earn­ing her degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked in pediatrics and as a visiting nurse. Ruth was joined in mar­riage with the love of her life, James E. Stratton on August 12, 1978. Most re­cently Ruth worked with children in the Bedford school system.

Ruth deeply loved her Christian faith, her fam­ily, and had a gift for cel­ebrating life’s joys, great and small. Her faith guid­ed her life and created a legacy for others to fol­low. Her passion and care for others will be deeply missed.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Jim; three daugh­ters, Amanda Stratton Kirk and husband An­drew, Rebecca Draper and husband Daniel, and Emily Schilling and hus­band Brian; four grand­children, Eliza, Jane, Viv­ian and Nathaniel-due in September; her father, Morton; her mother-in-law, Barbara Stratton; four siblings, Su­san Loreng, Paul Senseney, Col. Mi­chael Senseney, and Thomas Senseney; and nu­merous nieces and nephews.

Services: Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at Goodwin Funeral Home and Cremation Ser­vices, 607 Chestnut Street, Manchester. The funeral service will begin at 11 am on Friday, August 7, 2015, at Bethany Covenant Church, One Covenant Way, Route 101, Bedford, NH.
