James M. Bowen

WILTON, NH – James M. Bowen, 86, life­long resident of Wilton, died October 2, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua.

He was born in Wilton on July 8, 1929, a son of Luke and Teresa (Burke) Bowen and was raised in educat­ed in Wilton. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Lit­erature from St. Anselm’s College, Goffstown, NH.

Mr. Bowen had been employed by Paralyzed Veterans of America/PVA, Wilton, for 35 years.

He was an avid reader of anything to do with his­tory and also enjoyed lis­tening to jazz and opera.

Mr. Bowen was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served as a meteorologist during the Korean War.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Luke Bowen and Vincent Bowen, and a nephew, Michael Bowen.

Family members in­clude a niece, Vicki Bow­en Bradford of Windsor, CA and a nephew, Patrick Bowen and his wife, Flor of Dover.

There are no visiting hours. A memorial ser­vice will be held Friday, October 9 at 10 a.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm St., Mil­ford. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt.
