James M. Bowen
WILTON, NH – James M. Bowen, 86, lifelong resident of Wilton, died October 2, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua.
He was born in Wilton on July 8, 1929, a son of Luke and Teresa (Burke) Bowen and was raised in educated in Wilton. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Literature from St. Anselm’s College, Goffstown, NH.
Mr. Bowen had been employed by Paralyzed Veterans of America/PVA, Wilton, for 35 years.
He was an avid reader of anything to do with history and also enjoyed listening to jazz and opera.
Mr. Bowen was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served as a meteorologist during the Korean War.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Luke Bowen and Vincent Bowen, and a nephew, Michael Bowen.
Family members include a niece, Vicki Bowen Bradford of Windsor, CA and a nephew, Patrick Bowen and his wife, Flor of Dover.
There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 9 at 10 a.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm St., Milford. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt.
