Major R. Foskett

Major R. Fo­skett, 79, passed away peacefully on Oct. 22, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House with family by his side in Statesville, NC.

He was born on Aug. 16, 1936 in Concord, NH, the son of the late Harold and Gladys Remick and Everett Foskett.

Major lived in Milford for most of his early years and graduated from Milford High School before joining the Air Force. He had a ca­reer of 21 years traveling for the military within the United States as well as being stationed in Japan, Greenland and Thailand. After retiring from the Air Force, he was employed by the Horace Greeley Restaurant before owning the Snack-n-Dine Restau­rant in Milford.

Major was a Mason with Benevolent Lodge #7 in Milford and a member of the American Legion Post #65 in NC.

After retiring, he and his wife moved to North Carolina where he con­tinued his love of tinkering with the latest technology.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mieko Fos­kett and his sister, Susan Peterson.

Family members include his three children and their spouses, Tammy and Mark Wheeler, Steve and Sherry Foskett and Jo-Ann and Yoshihiro Sano. He leaves behind six grandchildren, two great-grandsons and two nieces and their families.
