Ruth Mae Bean

Ruth Mae Bean, 69, resi­dent of Milford, NH died on January 23, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Los An­geles, CA on June 1, 1946, the daughter of Clyde W. and Vio­let (Kretschman) Sedgeman. Ruth grew up in Califor­nia where she met and married her husband Phil and started their fam­ily. Before making their home in Mil­ford in 1986, they spent five years in Alaska.

Ruth pursued her pas­sion for quilting and was a member of the Bedford Friendship Quilt Guild. She also expressed her creativity through craft­ing jewelry. She was an excellent cook and en­joyed camping and travel­ing. Above all else, it was her family that meant the world to her and she cher­ished the time spent with them at family gatherings. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and most especially adored her grandchildren.

Ruth was a commu­nicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford.

Family members in­clude her husband of 49 years, Phillip Bean of Mil­ford; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Julie Bean of Portsmouth, NH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sha­ron and William Campbell of Am­herst, NH, Kelly and Derek Jackson of Bedford, NH; and four grand­children.

Calling hours are on Wednesday, January 27th from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Mil­ford, NH. A mass of Chris­tian burial will be celebrat­ed on Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial will be in St. Pat­rick’s Cemetery, Amherst in the spring.
