Bette Lee Burns

BETTE LEE BURNS 6/2/46-2/28/2016

Daughter of Paul B. and Barbara Volk was born June 2, 1946, in Needham Mass.

She graduated from Bellingham high school in 1964 and three years later married William J Burns. She enjoyed traveling in Germany, Italy, while he fulfilled his 3 years in the Army.

Her husband’s job brought them from MA to NH, where they lived for 27 years. They raised two sons.

Bette earned her EMT-A and enjoyed being part of the Wilton-Lyndeborough Volunteer Ambulance.

After working at Art Ex­perience for 15 years, she decided at age 50 to be­come a LNA taking care of home seniors.

Selling their home and retiring, she and her hus­band lived full time in their 5th wheel RV, travel­ing north in the summer/ fall then heading south, seeing as much of the country as they could.

In 2009 they moved to Sun City SC, where Bette enjoyed Beading, foster­ing mother and kittens for Palmetto Animal League, and working at the Church of The Cross Thrift Store.

Bette and her husband continued RVing until all 48 states where toured.

She leaves her hus­band of 49 years, William J. Burns; son William J Burns III, his wife Susan; son Stephen P Burns, his wife Debra; three grand­daughters, Nichole Eliza­beth Burns, Katelyn Ma­rie Burns of Stow Ma, and Rayya Skye Burns of Con­cord NH. She also leaves a brother, Glen Volk, and sister, Barbara E. Mal­vin, and many nieces and nephews.
