Harland ‘Harley’ Savage Jr.
Harland "Harley" Savage Jr. of Wilton, NH, passed away peacefully on March 3rd in Manchester, NH, surrounded by his family after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer.
He leaves his wife of 47 years, Pam Porter Savage; his two children, daughter, Leah Savage of Portsmouth NH, son, Matthew; daugher-in-law, Jasmine; and two grandsons, Owen and Elijah Savage of Durham NH. Harley also leaves behind his brother, Ralph Savage of Bonita Springs, Florida; and the family of his sister Carol Conklin of Augusta, Maine. Harley grew up and spent his life in Wilton, NH. After graduating from UNH in 1971, he returned home, purchasing the family business, restoring it, opening it to the public, and creating the beautiful boxes his business, Fryes Measure Mill, is known for today.
His true passions in life were his family, friends, and his life’s work as a craftsman. His family and friends often referred to him as "one of the nicest people they had ever met," and he truly was. Honest, Hardworking, Reliable, Trustworthy and Loving are the best descriptors of Harley. He will truly be missed.
Services will be held in early June at Fryes Measure Mill.
