Janice Rafter Adams

Janice Rafter Adams, 80, a longtime resident of Milford, NH, died peace­fully on September 29, 2016 at Auburn Homes in Chaska Minnesota. She moved to Minnesota in 2014 to be close to her daughter and family. Jan­ice passed into the arms of Jesus surrounded by her loving family and de­voted caregivers.

She was born in Milford NH on October 6, 1935, a daughter to Thomas F. and Olive (Blood) Rafter. Janice attended school in Milford and graduated from Keene Teachers Col­lege in 1957.

Janice was a longtime teacher, teaching in Mil­ford and Bedford, NH. She was an active mem­ber of the First Congrega­tional Church in Milford. Janice also was an active volunteer at the Milford Historical Society, with Girl Scouts and with 4-H. She was an avid reader, walker on the trails of Beaver Brook behind her home in Milford, furni­ture refinisher, knitter and rug braider. She was also an avid Red Sox fan. Janice enjoyed traveling to visit family around the country.

Family members in­clude her son and daugh­ter-in-law David Adams and Amy Fairweather of Hillsborough, NH, her daughter and son-in-law Cynthia Adams and Den­nis DuBois, of Chanhas­sen MN, and son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Sylvia Adams of Simi Valley, CA.

Grandchildren include Erin DuBois of London, England, Meghan DuBois of Edina, MN, Mallory and Samuel Carpenter of Ellsworth Air Force Base, SD, and Matthew and Daniel Adams of Simi Valley, CA.

Janice is also survived by her brother Arthur Rafter of Mason, NH, and many nieces and nephews in New Hampshire, Mas­sachusetts, Georgia, Vir­ginia and Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers. Janice was also preceded in death by her former husband Eugene I. Adams and her longtime compan­ion Donald Boudreau.

Janice was a loving, generous and caring Mom, Grammy, volunteer and friend. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held in Minnesota at Auburn Homes Chapel on Oct. 8, 2016 at 11 am. A sec­ond memorial service will be held at The First Con­gregational Church in Mil­ford at a later date.
