Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Heinemann

Amherst, NH – Elizabeth “Betty” Heinemann, 97, longtime resident of Amherst, NH, died on May 2, 2018.

She was born on January 8, 1921 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Raymond Schuster and Elizabeth (Swank) Schuster. Betty graduated from Montclair High School, Montclair, NJ, Class of 1940. She made her home in Amherst for more than 50 years.

Betty had been employed by the Avon Company as a sales representative for many years. She was a member of the former Souhegan Congregational Church. In addition, Betty was a member and Past President of the Ricciardi Hartshorn Post #23, American Legion Auxiliary and the Harley Sanford Post # 4368 VFW Auxiliary in Milford. She also enjoyed lecturing on the history of the American flag.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest A. Heinemann, who died in 2003.

Family members include her son, Paul Heinemann of Amherst, NH; daughter, Roseann Morrissette of Amherst, NH; two grandchildren, Nicollette and Jason and eight great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours are on Monday, May 14th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 15th at 11:00 am in Meadowview Cemetery, Foundry Street, Amherst, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the New Hampshire Veterans Home, 139 Winter Street, Tilton, NH 03276. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, Milford.
