Heather Nichole DesRochers

“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us.” -Helen Keller

Heather Nichole DesRochers, 46, of Milford, NH passed away January 22, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with cryptogenic organizing pneumonia.

She was born on June 4, 1972 in Manchester, NH to Winifred M. Maki and Paul S. Gay.

Growing up Heather was the quintessential tomboy and athlete; she loved playing baseball, ice hockey, fishing, skating boarding and being outside. She was fearless and didn’t think twice about being the only girl on a boys’ team. As she got older, she developed a unique sense of style; from the harem pants with monkeys on them that she made herself to her blue hair she sported long before it was considered trendy, Heather was one of a kind. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed crocheting. She loved her children, music, sunflowers, tie-dye, crystals, and celebrating holidays with her family.

Heather was preceded in death by her grandparents Harold and Roberta Toomey and Arthur and Marguerite Gay. She leaves behind her parents; son Conner Gower and daughter Kyra Gower; sister Jessica Carmona and her three daughters Tanisha, Teagan, and Taryn; great-niece Aria; stepfather Gregg Maki and his daughter Crystle; half-brother Timothy Briand; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 4th at Burns Hill Christian Fellowship located at 419 Elm St. in Milford. The ceremony, which will be performed by Heather’s aunt and uncle, Ministers Ralph and Judith Kee.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation be made in Heather’s name to either the CHEST Foundation (www.chestnet.org) or the American Society for Suicide Prevention (www.afsp.org).
