George M. ‘Joe’ Joki Jr.

BROOKLINE, NH: George M. “Joe” Joki Jr., 72, of Main Street, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua.

Mr. Joki was born in Groton, August 6, 1938, a son of George M. and Alice N. (Nutting) Joki Sr. and resided in Townsend before moving to Brookline fifty years ago. He graduated from Spaulding High School in Townsend and later attended the General Motors School of Automobile Repair in Dedham.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Esther (Lamb) Joki, a son and a daughter-in-law, David A. and Karen Joki of Brookline; two daughters, Susan E. Joki and Cynthia A. Joki both of Brookline; two brothers, James H. Joki of Deltona, Florida, Gene A. Joki of Westford. He also leaves five grandchildren, Joshua Joki, Emily-Kate Joki, Gretchen Joki, Kelly Fessenden and Cheyanne Stunger.

Mr. Joki owned and operated Brookline Motors Incorporated since 1973. He had been a member of the Brookline Fire Department for over 40 years, at one time serving as Deputy Chief. Through the years he compiled an impressive collection of toy cars.

A graveside service will be held 11 am Saturday, August 28th at Pine Grove Cemetery, South Main Street, Brookline.

Calling hours are 5-8 Friday at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main Street (cors of Rte 119 and Rte 13 South), Townsend Center.
