Henry J. Meuse Jr.

NASHUA, NH – Henry J. “Hank” Meuse, Jr., 87, resident of Nashua, died on March 28, 2014 at Greenbriar Healthcare Center in Nashua surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Reading, MA, on September 28, 1926, a son of Henry J. Meuse, Sr. and Minnie (Doucett) Meuse. He graduated from Reading, MA. High School, Class of 1945.

Mr. Meuse served in the Pacific in the U.S. Navy 1st amphibious forces during World War II.

He married Virginia (Eaton) Meuse in November of 1951. They lived in Malden, MA then moved to Hollis, NH, in 1955 where they remained for more than 50 years.

He had been employed by Nashua Auto and retired in 1988 from Royal Business Forms in Nashua after 27 years of service.

Mr. Meuse enjoyed traveling and camping. He also enjoyed volunteering for St. Joseph Community Services for many years.

He was a member of Hollis Memorial Post #11373, Nashua Senior Center and Milford AARP #1235. In addition, he was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford.

Mr. Meuse was predeceased by his wife, Virginia (Eaton) Meuse, who died in 2009; and a brother, Robert Meuse.

Family members include three sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen J. Meuse of Nashua, Robert and Lorraine Meuse of Candia, NH, Kevin and Susan Meuse of Litchfield, NH; four daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and James Dargie, Maureen and Gerald Lussier all of Milford, Christine and Paul Phaneuf of New London, NH, Marybeth and Christopher Giovanni of Easley, SC; nine grandchildren; seven great-
grandchildren; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Richard and Eleanor Meuse of Alabama and Virginia Meuse of Nahant, MA; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Edward Trusullo of Delray Beach, FL; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours were on Monday, March 31st from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Amherst, in the spring.
