William S. Cogger

William Sampson Cogger, 79, of Hollis, NH, and formerly of Elmhurst, IL, died peacefully on Feb. 4, 2015, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA.

He was born in Nashua, NH, on Feb. 8, 1935, a son of the late Patrick and Gertrude (Sampson) Cogger, who were Merrimack, NH, residents.

William was a graduate of the Nashua High School class of 1953. He attended American International College and pursued education throughout his life.

He worked in sales and marketing for major high tech plastic companies. After retirement, he did volunteer work for the Nashua Youth Council, Consumer Protection Division of the NH Attorney General’s Office and SCORE.

William enjoyed reading, golf with the Ponemah Senior Golf League, outdoor activities and especially time with his family. He was a farm boy at heart, loved animals and never met a dog he didn’t like. His kindness and warmth brightened many lives. He will be deeply missed.

He is predeceased by three sisters, Rosalind Kelsey, Lucille Parker and Gloria Gendron, and a brother, Forrest Cogger.

Members of his family include his loving wife, Dorothy (Gagnon) Cogger, of Hollis; a son, Stephen Cogger and his wife, MaryAnn; a daughter, Lynn Koop, and her husband, Kenneth; four grandchildren, Sean Koop, Alexandrea McLearen and her husband, Joseph, Sampson Cogger and Cecelia Cogger; two great-grandsons, Aedan and Liam; five stepchildren, Martha McLarney and her husband, Richard, Sarah Canfield, Matthew Canfield, Anne Canfield and her husband, Paul Wallace, and Jonathan Canfield; four step-grandchildren, Matthew, Brett, Jane and Meghan; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held in St. Joseph Church, 777 West Hollis St., Nashua, NH, on Sat. Feb. 21, 2015, at 10 A.M.
