Phyllis M. McDuffee

Phyllis M. McDuffee, aged 82, died peacefully on March 1st, 2015 at Tricity Hospital in Oceanside, CA after a brief but sudden illness. Phyllis was born June 4th, 1932 in Woburn, Massachusetts, the daughter of Howard P. Wilder and Amelia Gould Wilder.

Phyllis is survived by Edward P. McDuffee, to whom she was happily married for 55 years, along with her three loving children, Pamela, Bruce and Laurie; and eight grandchildren, Ryan, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Samuel, Cassidy, Kendall, Kenneth, Jr. and Brennan.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Amelia, and her brother, Howard, Jr.

Phyllis graduated from Tufts University, where she obtained a BA in Languages and graduated magna cum laude. She then worked for the United Fruit Company in Boston, MA and married Edward several years later moving to Hollis, NH, where they raised their family. Phyllis and Edward moved to Carlsbad, California several years ago to be closer to their children.

Phyllis was very active in the community of Hollis, volunteering at the local school that her children attended, a member of many local clubs such as the Hollis Extension, Scout leader, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Phyllis was an active member of Temple Beth Abraham. A service for Phyllis will take place at Temple Beth Abraham on April 24th at 1 pm with a gathering and lunch to follow. The burial will be private.

Phyllis was well loved and will be missed by many, especially her family, who loved her dearly.
