Donald F. Desorcy

Donald F. Desorcy, 92, formerly of Hobe Sound, FL, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ.

Don was born to Albert and Leona Desorcy in Holyoke, MA. He attended Assumption Preparatory School in Worcester, MA, and was offered a Baseball scholarship to the University of Virginia. He enlisted in the USCG, serving his country during WWII on the U.S.S. Centaurus AKA 17, earning 6 Battle Stars in the Pacific Theatre.

He returned to Boston, MA, for a career with NYNEX, formerly New England Telephone, including Training Manager and District Sales Manager for Yellow Pages Directory. He relocated his family to Merrimack, NH, for 13 years until his retirement to FL. He especially enjoyed golf at Manchester (NH) Country Club, and mentoring Junior Achievement Business Club.

Don is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary (O’Neill) Desorcy, who passed in 2006, and his daughter Donna Lee, in 1979. He is survived by his daughter Doreen and her husband Michael Duggan, his granddaughter Alexandra Donna Kelly and great-grandson Aiden Michael Kelly, all of Mantoloking, NJ.

Family and friends were invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Friday, May 9th, 2014, 10:00 A.M. at the Parish of St. Dominic’s, 250 Old Squan Road Brick, NJ 08724.
