Dr. Leon C. Haas

Dr. Leon C. Haas, 61, of Merrimack, died on Monday June 2, 2014, in Exeter, NH, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident which occurred in Stratham, NH.

He was born on March 19, 1953, in Munich, Germany to the late Walter and Krescentia (Schnitzenbaumer) Haas.

He was a graduate of Bishop Guertin High School in 1971. His love for medicine started at and early age, a graduate of Boston University in 1978 and he completed his residency at Berkshire Medical Center in Dalton, MA. Leon was a well-respected emergency room doctor at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester for many years, and also had his own private practice in Nashua. He loved his work and helping to heal others.

He enjoyed being outdoors in nature, painting natural scenery, fishing, motorcycles, barbecuing, and most of all, helping and spending time with his family.

Leon is survived by his fiancé, Agueda Tejada of Merrimack; a daughter, Kylee Haas of Merrimack; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Laverne and Nancy Haas of New Ipswich, Larry Haas of Newington, and Lemont Haas of Dalton; a sister, Ruth Palmer of Tucson, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack on Friday, June 6 from 2-4 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, on Saturday June 7 at 10:30 A.M. Burial followed in Last Rest Cemetery.
