Robert E. Coyne
Robert E. Coyne of Merrimack, NH, passed away Saturday, August 2 at the Courville Assisted Living Facility in Nashua, NH following a brief illness.
He was born August 8, 1932 in Boston, MA to the late Edward and Sarah (Coyne) Coyne. Raised in South Boston, he served 3 years in the Army and graduated from Boston College in 1959.
The last 25 years of his career were spent with Raytheon, where he worked in operations and procurement management. While working at Raytheon, he spent sevenyears stationed in Saudi Arabia – an experience that helped to create many lifelong friendships and lasting family memories.
His life was further enriched by, and his family eternally grateful for, a liver transplant that he received in 1993 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
During his lifetime, he was a resident of Boston, MA; Reading MA; Jeddah, Arabia; Hollis, NH; and most recently Merrimack, NH. He was a member of the Merrimack Senior Citizens and a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church.
Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife of 42 years, Kathryn (Grant) Coyne.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor (Ardizzoni) Fariole Coyne of Merrimack; a son, Robert and his wife Christine of Bellevue, WA; a daughter, Kathryn Cronin and her husband Dave of Marblehead, MA; and four grandchildren, Meeghan and Molly Cronin and Grant and Reaghan Coyne. He is also survived by 2 stepsons, William and Walter Fariole; stepdaughters Linda Platte and her husband Larry Platte, Jean Shea and her husband Jim Shea, Louise Fletcher and her husband Andy Fletcher; and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
Calling hours were held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH on Thursday, August 7 from 5-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mercy, 13 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, NH on Friday, August 8 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden, MA at 1:30 PM.
