Helen M. (Harrington) Rush
Helen M. (Harrington) Rush, of Merrimack, NH, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2014, while surrounded by her loving family. Born in Stamford, Ct, on Oct. 24, 1925, to the late Dennis and Mary Harrington.
Helen and Clayton loved spending time at their winter home in Bonita Springs, Florida, where they developed lifelong friendships, which continued up to the time of her passing. She loved playing cards with her good buddies Joe and Claudia, and specialized in pot-luck dinners, with Junior and Marge as her co-hosts. They had a passion for traveling, and together they saw many different parts of this great country.
Religion was a focus in the lives of Helen and Clayton, and was instrumental in keeping their marriage strong and vibrant. It was a shining example for all those who spent time around them, that humility, a strong family life, and a love for God, can be instrumental forces, when confronting life’s challenges.
Helen and Clayton lived for 47 years in the town of Hudson, NH, and were parishioners at St. John the Evangelist Church. They recently moved to neighboring Merrimack, NH, so as to be nearer to their family.
In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her two brothers Dennis and Jim, along with her sister Shelia.
Helen enjoyed 65 wonderful years with her devoted husband, Clayton, and always made her family the number one priority in her life. Helen is survived by her three children, Clayton Jr. and his wife, Kathy (Delude), Maureen and her husband, Tim (Foltz), and Ken and his wife, Colleen (Culliton), all of Merrimack, NH. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Geoff and Jennifer, Kristyn and Beth, Christopher and Kathryn, as well as five great-grandchildren, Rachel, Abby, Anna, Katelyn, and Emma.
Calling hours took place on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, from 4-7 p.m. at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack NH, 03054. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Rd, Merrimack, NH. A luncheon was available immediately after the service, in the basement of the church, and all were invited to attend.
Her body was laid to rest at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 102 Derry Rd, Hudson, NH, at 12 noon.
