Phyllis J. Donovan
Phyllis J. Donovan, 73, of Merrimack, NH, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a brief illness.
She was born in Dorchester, MA, on March 24, 1941, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Foley) Fencer.
Phyllis attended Dorchester schools and graduated from Framingham State College in Framingham, MA, in 1962. She started teaching in Hull, MA, and then after moving to NH, she was a substitute teacher in Hampstead, NH. Phyllis loved her home, gardening and animals. She will be surely missed by those who knew her.
Phyllis dearly loved her husband of 48 years, James J. Donovan Sr., who died June 10, 2011.
Members of her family include her son, James J. Donovan Jr., and his wife, Denise, of Nashua; a sister, Carol Kepper, of Bourne, MA; a brother, John Fencer, and his wife, Susan, of Boston, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were in the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 11:30 to 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Immediately following the service, burial followed in the NH Veteran Cemetery in Boscawen.
