John F. Cox, 49 of Lowell, MA, and formerly of Merrimack, NH, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA, after a sudden illness.
He was born in Brighton, MA, on July 20, 1965, a son of John Cox of Merrimack, NH, and the late Kathleen (Quirke) Cox, who died in 2004.
John spent most of his life in Merrimack before moving to Lowell 18 years ago. John worked in the Lowell area as a self-employed plasterer.
In addition to his father, members of his family include a brother, Michael Cox of Calais, ME, and his wife, Tammy; three sisters, Karen Avard and her husband, Dr. John of Manchester, Helen Caron and her husband, Michael “Moose,” and Peggy Kurzweil and her husband, Scott, all of Merrimack; nine nieces, Rachel, Rebecca, Hannah and Vanessa Avard; Denise Bell, Shannon Kurzweil, Stephanie Caron, and Tiernan and Molleigh Cox; one nephew, Sam Avard; one grandniece, Sophia Richard; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours were in the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, NH, Sunday from 5-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, Monday at 9:30 a.m. Following cremation, burial will be in Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack.
