Gilda A. (Guarino) Kremer

Gilda A. (Guarino) Kremer, 90, of Merrimack, NH died Wednesday April 9, 2015 at Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua, NH after a period of declining health.

She was born in Englewood, NJ on Oct. 25, 1924 a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Maturo) Guarino.

Gilda attended schools in Haworth and Dumont, NJ and also the Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City. She graduated in 1946 from Bellevue after serving for 3 years with the Cadet Nursing Corps during WWII.

She worked as a Head Nurse at Bellevue and as an assistant in the operating room to Dr. Cinelli, a famous plastic surgeon.

She and her husband Bill moved to Merrimack in 1972. Gilda was a member of the Merrimactors, with her best roles being Bloody Mary in South Pacific and one of the old Aunts in Arsenic and Old Lace. She was a member of the Merrimack Women’s Federated Republican Club, and a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Merrimack.

Gilda loved bowling, singing, acting, writing poetry, bingo, Yahtzee, and being with family and friends.

Gilda is the widow of William F. Kremer II to whom she was married for 49 yrs and who died in 2003. She is also pre-deceased by a sister Jean Soltis and a brother Edward Guarino.

Members of her family include her son William J Kremer of Boston, a daughter Toni McNamara of Merrimack, two grandchildren Caitlin and Patrick McNamara, a brother Joseph Guarino, two sisters, Gloria Drodvillo and Rosemary Weyer, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday April 13, 2015 in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Merrimack, NH, Fr. Paul Bouchard was the celebrant. Burial followed in Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack.
