Rexford (Rex) Carlston Lint, 73, of Merrimack died July 26, 2016 in the Merrimack Community Hospice House. He was born on the 4th of July in 1943 in California.

Rex grew up on a ranch in Merced, California where he was educated in the Merced public schools. He went on to receive his industrial engineering degree from Stanford University.

In 1964 he married the former Janis Fuller and they had 3 children.

In 1968, their son Rexford "Brady" was born. In 1998, Rex, Jan and Brady went to Ethiopia where they met and brought home their daughters and sisters Alemtsehai (Alexis) and Tigest (Jocelyn).

Rex worked summers while at Stanford in Yosemite National Park as a fire fighter. After graduation, he worked at NASA in Houston and, after moving to New Hampshire, he worked at Sanders Associates, Digital Equipment Corporation, and Hewlett-Packard. Before retirement, he was a private consultant in the field of technology & disabilities. During his career, he served on an international committee on Internet standards.

Rex loved flying and he was an instrument rated pilot with over 1000 hours including many cross country flights in small planes. He enjoyed being a ham radio operator and a member of the Nashua Radio Club. He was well known for his accuracy and speed as a ham radio operator and participated in many field days. Rex enjoyed many summers at their home on Cape Cod with family and friends.

For almost 40 years, he was active in the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Milford where he served in many capacities.

Rex leaves his beloved wife, Janis of Merrimack; his son Rexford and his wife Kathleen of Crested Butte, Colorado; his daughter Alexis Robinson and her son Noah of Milford, NH; and his daughter Jocelyn Gagne, her husband Nate, and their son Winston of Merrimack, NH. He is survived by his sister Margaret Nowak and her husband Tom of Mill Valley, California; his brother Gus and his wife Gail of Galpin, Oklahoma; and Jan’s brother Jim Fuller and his wife Sharon of Newport, Oregon. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and skiing with his grandson Noah just as he did with his son Brady. His sense of humor and spirit of adventure will be missed by all who knew him.

He was predeceased by his mother Nancy Rose Lint; his step father Robert Lint; his father Paul Vorenkamp; and his sister Sally Lint.

A memorial service will be held on October 22, 2016 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at 20 Elm Street in Milford, NH at 11am immediately followed by a reception.

Special thanks to the staff of the Merrimack Community Hospice House and to Reverend Barbara McKusick Liscord. Both provided much support to the family and friends during Rex’s battle with cancer.
