WWII paintings feature appreciated

To the Editor:

I am writing to give the Bedford Journal a great big round of applause for your Oct. 19 issue’s feature story, "They Are A National Treasure," about the WWll paintings of Pvt. Charles J Miller.

From the cover of the issue through the full article I was entranced and so appreciated the large size,
attention-grabbing photos you printed of his work. They are uniquely descriptive, beautifully and deftly rendered; I am in awe!

I am sure that I and many others would never have experienced Miller’s paintings had you not brought them and his story to our attention.

I come from a family of many past and present service members and I support our troops in my business and in my heart, and Charles Miller’s paintings speak to us all of the service and sacrifice they have made and do make every day.

Thank you for this article and for being a wonderful vehicle for a brand new Bedford resident to learn about what goes on around her in her new home!
