Scouts thank residents for donations

Letter to Editor:

The scouts of Bedford Troop 414 would like to thank the citizens of Bedford for their generous donations of food items in support of Scouting for Food. This year the Town of Bedford contributed over 8,800 food items. As a result we were able to do a good job stocking the new Bedford Food Pantry and still give a generous contribution to the food pantries throughout our local area that count on our contributions.

The success of this drive wouldn’t have been possible without the contributions of many members of the community. First, we would like to thank the entire Bedford scouting community. The scouts from Boy Scout Troop 5, Cub Scout Packs 5, 511 and 114 and the Girls Scouts of Bedford all made major contributions. Thank you also to Contemporary Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep of Milford, for their generous donation of a cargo van to transport the food. The Bedford High School for added this to their Real World Learning opportunities. Bedford TV for promoting the event. Finally, thank you to the Thomas family, the Bedford Presbyterian Church and Metropolis Realty who allowed the use of their property to post our signs.

Together the Bedford community and the local scouting programs made a difference.
