Loss of trees sad but necessary
You’ve probably noticed all of the tree cutting being done by the Asplundh Company under the direction of Public Service of New Hampshire, and it’s possible that you could be upset because some of the trees were old and stately.
None of us want a recurrence of the ice storm of 2008 when so many thousands of people lost power for more than a week.
What Asplundh and PSNH are doing is trying to ensure that it doesn’t happen again by cutting down trees that are a potential danger to power lines, and we think they really have no choice.
We’re as sad as anyone else about the trees, some of which we passed on our drives around the area.
