Help out less fortunate pupils
We have many good corporate citizens in this area and the latest one to raise the "We’re Here to Help" flag is the Edward Jones branch office in Milford.
The office is collecting school supplies from residents, the supplies to be used to help those less-fortunate in the community. Of course the Jones folks need help from you: Bring supplies to the office and they’ll put them to good use.
Today is the last day for the collection. You have until the end of business today, Thursday, Aug. 6, to drop off supplies and we hope you’ll do so.
Among the items needed are backpacks, flash drives, pencils, durable plastic binders, notebooks, calculators, pens, erasers, rulers … well, you know what students need. Lots of stuff.
Most folks are lucky enough to be able to afford such things for their children, but not everyone can. That’s where Edward Jones, and you, come in.
Jones will take the items to Milford’s Share Outreach headquarters and Share will make sure they get to the people who need them. Share does a lot of that, not just with school supplies but with food. Believe it or not, there are people in wealthy America who are in need.
So step up to the plate, head to Edward Jones’ office in Milford and bring what you can, as much as you can. You’ll be glad you did.
