An open letter to Sen. Jeanne Shaheen

To the Editor:

We are among the millions of people who are losing their health insurance thanks to Obamacare.

We are losing it in spite of the repeated assurances of both President Obama and you, that if you like your plan, you can keep your plan.

You sent us a letter dated Oct. 13, 2009, about this very issue.

In it you said and I quote, “Americans can choose their own doctors, choose their own insurance and make decisions about their treatment. That’s what’s right about our health care system. We must keep what’s right and fix what’s wrong.”

Well, not only can we not keep our insurance, we cannot keep our doctor and our premiums, thanks to the “Affordable” Care Act, are more than doubling.

Senator Shaheen, this is not right. It is not fair.

You have an obligation to live up to your word by taking whatever action is necessary to make sure that those of us who were promised that we could keep our plans actually get to keep them.

ELIZABETH BRIDGE
