Scott Brown supports the Second Amendment

Editor’s note: According to the official report of the state’s attorney for the judicial district of Danbury on the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Adam Lanza used a Bushmaster semi-automatic rifle and a Glock 20 semi-automatic pistol to commit the shootings at the Connecticut school. To the Editor:

Last night, I had the opportunity to talk with Scott Brown after his short speech to the Nashua Republican Party at the Crown Plaza.

Scott Brown got hot under the collar, the type of hot you cannot get by acting, when asked what accusations bothers him most from his competitors in the Senate race.

He barked … the Second Amendment!

He is truly upset since he has lived by the gun by being in the military for 35 years.

Scott explained that the initial report of his supporting a ban on “assault weapons” left out the second half of his statement, which included the reference to the central issue of the mentally ill gaining possession of weapons.

As we all know now, the shooter at Sandy Hook used four hand guns to commit his crime, not an “assault rifle,” and the common theme in almost all the mass shootings is that the shooter is suffering from mental illness, and should not possess a gun by anyone’s thinking.

Scott supports the Second Amendment.

As for his being a carpetbagger? The simple fact that he has been here or close to here for his whole life belies that charge, certainly in comparison to his Democrat opponent, Jeanne Shaheen, who is from St. Charles, Mo.
