Group thanks residents for support of Blue Bus

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Souhegan Valley Transportation Collaborative and the area residents who use the Souhegan Valley Rides bus service – thank you to each and every one of the Milford residents who voted on March 10, humbled by the 78 percent affirmative vote in support of funding the “Blue Bus”.

For seven consecutive years, Milford voters have stepped up to fund their community’s share of the cost to provide a non-emergency handicapped-accessible regional transportation option to area residents.

As of March 1st residents have used 11,896 of those rides.

We also extend a hearty thank you to our neighbors in Amherst, Brookline, Hollis, Mont Vernon and Wilton for their continued support of the bus service. By working together, our communities are meeting the need for reliable and accessible transportation resources and are continuing our region’s strong tradition of “neighbor helping neighbor”.
