CASA thanks those who help the abused

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank the dedicated group of volunteers making a difference in the lives of New Hampshire’s abused and neglected children. Right here in Milford, people are advocating for children who have been abused and/or neglected by their parents or guardians. CASA Guardians Ad-Litem are appointed by the court and their role is to represent the best interest of the child.

These volunteers visit with the child/children each month, attend meetings relating to the interest of the child, work collaboratively with professionals including the Division of Child Youth and Families and prepare reports to the court for each hearing. Most importantly, at each court hearing they stand before the judge and give each child a voice in the courtroom.

These volunteers make sure that the child’s best interest is always represented, which is invaluable.

I am honored to work with such a fantastic group of men and women, who come from all different backgrounds but come together for one great reason: to serve New Hampshire’s abused and neglected children.
