Peace group presents testimony

To the Editor:

Over 200 people gathered at the Statehouse in Concord on April 4 to make their views known about the Education Bill SB 193.

Members of Wilton Peace Action presented testimony expressing their concerns that with the bill there is no reliable estimate of the cost to taxpayers, that resources will be diverted from public schools to private schools, as well as constitutional issues such as the separation of church and state.

Protesters also pointed out that a high-performing

public education system exists now, and asked who benefits from this type of bill, which defunds public education.
