Lions Golf Tournament a success
To the Editor:
The Merrimack Lions Club wants to thank all of the players, town businesses and private citizens who contributed to make our 13th annual charity golf tournament on July 20 at Amherst Country Club, "Swinging for Charity," a success.
In addition to money earned with the golfer entry fees, there were many hole sponsorships by local businesses. There were 50/50 drawings and raffles, as well as the lunch buffet provided by Texas Roadhouse Restaurant.
The weather was perfect, and we received many favorable comments on how well the event was conducted. The money raised will go back to the community as we continue to support the food pantries, yearly eye and hearing screenings, Friars Club Christmas party, school scholarships and other projects related to the needs of the town.
Look for our tournament next summer and join us in a fun tournament while contributing to your town.
Our regular twice a month meetings started in September at The Common Man and Florence’s restaurants. New members and new ideas are always welcome.
If you wish to attend a dinner meeting to learn what we do, call Tricia Hanson, membership chairperson, at 424-6884.
