BSL signups underway
The Bedford Soccer League, in conjunction with NHPSA is entering its 34th year of providing recreational soccer to the youth soccer population of Bedford. Fall 2012 recreation league signups are open and for more information, or to register, visit www.nhpsa.net. Registration will close Aug. 10.
As of Jan. 1, 2012, the non-profit BSL has partnered with NHPSA, a Bedford-based, full time soccer coaching organization, to continue the tradition of providing a first-class soccer experience for players, parents, coaches and volunteers. As has held true for the previous 33 seasons, the BSL will feature Bedford parents as coaches, divisional coordinators and volunteers. Eight of the nine non-paid, volunteer BSL board members (all Bedford residents) will also be returning. All practices and games as per previous years will be held on Bedford fields. Programs for all ages and abilities are available, and multi-sport athletes are welcome.
The partnering of BSL and NHPSA will give new exciting additional benefits for all players and coaches. These include ongoing coaching education for all volunteer coaches, a detailed age appropriate soccer curriculum to aid parent coaches, which will better develop the technical skills of our young players. These exciting new benefits will allow for the better development of our players in a fun and safe soccer environment. NHPSA will also provide full time back office support from their office in Bedford to oversee and manage the recreational soccer program. The full time professional coaching staff will be available to guest coach at practices throughout the fall season.
The cost is $65 for pre-k/kindergarten/high school, and $95 for first-eighth grade. For more information please visit www.nhpsa.net, e-mail Recreational Program Liaison, Mark Beaumont, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 603-641-9787.
