Bedford Sports Talk

Jr. Bulldogs

Three Bedford Jr. Bulldogs from the 2013 Junior Pee Wee Red Team – Jacob Plage, Caleb Dudas and Nathaniel Frederick – received the 2014 Ricky McGregor Scholarship, and a scholarship to attend the Rob Gronkowski Pro Camp in Melrose, Mass.

Pop Warner players from around the state were nominated by their coaches for the 2014 Ricky McGregor Scholarship. The award nomination is based on a variety of criteria, including sportsmanship, team leadership, passion for the game, being exceptional team players and feedback from other Pop Warner coaches and officials. Once nominated, players were required to write and submit an essay about what the sport of football means to them and what it means to be a good teammate.

The Ricky McGregor Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Ricky McGregor, a 13-year old who passed away in 2006. The fund provides academic and athletic scholarships to the youth of the local area.
