Bedford falls in quarterfinals

The Bedford High School boys basketball team saw its season come to an end Saturday in a 56-45 loss to Spaulding in the Division I quarterfinals.

The Bulldogs (12-8) got a team-high 11 points from Colby Gendron, as they went into halftime tied with the Red Raiders at 22-22. Ryan Hughes added nine points and Ryan Brown had eight.

Darian Berry led Spaulding with 25 points, as the Red Raiders reached the semifinals on Tuesday, where they lost to Londonderry 58-51.

Bedford opened the playoffs with a 60-49 win over Bishop Guertin in last Wednesday’s preliminary round. Gendron had 21 points in that win, while Brown scored 17 points, 10 in the first half, and Hughes finished with 13 points.
