Souhegan Valley 14U Storm headed to World Series
The Souhegan Valley Storm 14U Babe Ruth All-Star softball team has earned a spot in the softball World Series with a runner-up finish in the New England Regional Tournament this past weekend in Plymouth.
The World Series tournament is scheduled for July 29-Aug. 5 in Newberry, Fla. To gain a spot in the championship game, the Storm beat the eastern Massachusetts State Champions from Raynham, Mass., 12-3.
The Storm roster is consists of Milford’s Lauren Basta, Meredith Basta and Abby Sites; Bedford’s Hannah Cronin, Kylie Dimond, Whitney Fitzgerald, Maddy Lucontoni and Emily Moll; Amherst’s Abi MacLatchy and Rheanna Wilson; Brookline’s Megan McLaughlin; Mont Vernon’s Alex Meader; and Wilton-Lyndeborough’s Ashley Humphreys and Abby LeBlanc. The team is coached by Steve Dimond, Doug Moll, Colin Wilson and Beth Fitzgerald.
The team is looking for financial support to help defray the costs of participating in this once-in-a-lifetime experience through a GoFundMe site at www.gofundme. com/SVSTORM14USoftball.

The Danielle Henderson Softball Academy at UMass Lowell will hold a summer clinic on July 27-29 for grades 7-12. UMass Lowell coaches and players will offer instruction in pitching, hitting, and defense. UMass Lowell Soccer Camps
The UMass Lowell women’s soccer program will hold two four-day summer camps. There will be two River Hawk Soccer Academy sessions aimed at two differing age groups. The first runs from July 31- Aug. 3 and is open to girls age 13 and up. It will be an intense training camp that will focus on both the technical and tactical sides of the game. The second camp session is open to boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 12 and will be a mix of technical stations, small sided games and individual instruction.
Campers will also have supervised access to the UMass Lowell swimming pool.The registration fee is $225 for a full day session and $125 for half day attendees. Enrollment, for both camps, is limited and on a first come, first serve basis. UNH Boys Basketball Camp
Registration is open for the upcoming University of New Hampshire Boys Basketball Wildcat Day Camp set for July 27-30 at UNH’s Lundholm Gymnasium and Paul Sweet Oval.
The day camp is open to any and all participants from grades two to nine. For boys in grades 2-5, camp will run from 9 a.m.-noon. The longer camp, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. is for grades 6-9.
Besides instruction for beginners and advanced youth, there will be two games per day and skill development sessions. Each camper will receive a tee shirt and a UNH basketball. Camp prices are $90 for grades 2-5 and $175 for grades 6-9. For more information, contact Liz McAllister at liz.mcallister@ unh.edu.
Daniel Webster College soccer camp
The Daniel Webster soccer programs will host the second annual Daniel Webster College Boys and Girls Soccer Day Camp on the college’s campus from Aug. 10-13.
Curriculum and drills will be adjusted to meet the needs of the groups. Campers should bring a ball, shin-pads, cleats, and plenty of water. All participants will also receive a free t-shirt.
The session runs from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. each day for players ages 6 through 12. Fees per child are $100.

The Greater Nashua Boys & Girls Club summer basketball and volleyball leagues are underway.
Basketball games for players in or entering high school are Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 and 7 p.m. For middle school athletes, games are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 and 5 p.m.
Teen volleyball will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 and 7 p.m.
