The Bedford fourth grade girls basketball team continued its dominance with a pair of impressive wins this week, defeating Hampstead 24-7 and Auburn 28-12.
Lana McCarthy led Bedford with eight points, while Kaelyn O’Neill added six. Megan Muir and Kamryn Schmitt chipped in with solid perimeter play, scoring four and three points, respectively.
Sophia LeGoullon was a force on the blocks against Auburn along with Devlyn McDonald and Becca Mello. Point guards Sophia Douglas and Libby Norris dribbled with precision and Taylor Guibord added value with aggressive rebounding on both ends.

Dental Arts of Bedford -10
Bedford Athletic Club defeated Dental Arts of Bedford 26-10. The first half was back and forth with great defense from Emma Ciruso, Jenny Merk and Ashley Mederios. But BAC broke away in the second half with sharp passing and shooting from Kristen Caldwell, Kayla Gibson, Nitya Gottemukkala and Nina Villarante.
NH Eye Associates – 16
Mega X – 10
Mega X fell to NH Eye Associates in a tough, scrappy game, 16-10. Victoria Manniello played tremendous defense, Alexa Silvia out-hustled all players consistently and Kaylie Tennant knocked down some key shots for Mega X.
Bedford Athletic Club – 8
Cohen Investment – 7
In a game that came down to the final minute, Bedford Athletic Club’s Bella Raduazzo sank the go-ahead basket to beat Cohen Investments Advisors, 8-7. BAC played great defense and passed the ball well to secure its first win. Cohen Investments’ hopes had been kept alive by the unrelenting defense of Mackenzie Smith and her determined teammate, Skylar Cohen. Alayna Zebra led scoring with four points while Rishika Bansal’s strategic play opened up many opportunities for the team. Although a loss in the record books, certainly a win in the effort category.

Showing up ready to shoot for Bedford Natural Medicine was Kira Abdelsayed, ending the game with eight points in a 20-7 win over Sports Authority. Claire Crowther had her hand in everything, getting off four great shots and playing fine defense that forced three turnovers. Sports Authority showed outstanding improvement as a team, playing with more confidence and improved chemistry. Lindsay Mello led the team’s scoring with three points and Molly Crowder played excellent defense and chipped in two points.
Small Green Comp. – 16
Kelly Interior – 13
Small Green Computer had a hard-fought 16-13 win against a tough Kelly Interior Painting team. With no subs on the bench, the girls played fantastic offense and defense. Elise Piotrowski led the scoring with eight points, while Julia Asadourian and Elizabeth Chopra each contributed four. Kendall Joyce and Thea Sarajlic were tenacious on defense, pulling down several key rebounds and making steals late in the game. Kelly Interior Painting stayed in the back-and-forth game thanks to Delaney Goterch, who battled her way to nine points, and Izzy Spain, who dropped in four. Carley Engstrom applied intense defensive pressure and Lily Grande had several rebounds and assists.

Bedford Friends of Recreation and BAP Personal Training tied 24-24 in a superb game. Abbey Gilligan set the pace on offense with her sharp outside shooting. Morgan Koellmer played great defense guarding a very tough front line.
Snapdragon Assoc. – 20
Nail Indulgence – 12
Snapdragon Associates defeated Nail Indulgence, 20-12. Olivia Stavropulos led Snapdragons with 10 points while Mary Provost scored six. Meghan Lang and Courtney Dermody spearheaded the tough defense throughout the game. Nail Indulgence was led by Holly Souter with six points and Rachael Noble played super defense.
