3 Bedford rec teams claim titles
7th and 8th grade
The Bedford Friends of Recreation came together at the end in one of their best performances of the year. Contributions from each player secured the victory against a formidable Snapdragon team.
5th and 6th grade
Bedford Natural Medicine defeated Kelly Interior Painting 12-11.
For team Bedford Natural Medicine, Anna Smith made a heavy defensive contribution after being thrown into a role she wasn’t used to, and Grace O’Dell effectively used her body to aggressively defend strong players on the other team.
Trailing 10-2 at the half KIP surged back to take a one-point lead on Sammy Johnson’s free throw with four minutes to play. The lead was short lived as BNM got a bucket with less than two minutes left on the clock making the score 12-11.
KIP dialed up the intensity even more over the final 90 seconds but it just wasn’t their day. Lily Grande led the offense with four points, while Johnson was 3 of 4 from the line. Thanks to Sydney Buffett, Christy Elliot, Carley Engstrom, Delaney Goterch, Lily Grande, Sammy Johnson, Izzy Spain and May Zheng for making this season a lot of fun.
3rd and 4th grade
The 3th/4th-Grade championship game was a nail-biter.
Mega-X outlasted a very tough, top-ranked NH Eye Associates team, 8-7, to win it all. The entire Mega-X crew contributed in the win with an intense defensive effort and just enough key shots to pull it out. Thanks to all of the family members, friends, and fans for all of their support this season.
