Bedford’s Wagner competes at Summer Junior Nationals

Lindsey Wagner, 15, of Bedford competed in USA Swimming’s Summer Junior Nationals from Aug. 8-12 in Minneapolis, Minn.

Wagner, 15, swam in both the 50-meter freestyle (26.47) and 100 backstroke (1:06.46).

Area swimmers competing in the Eastern Zone Championships in Buffalo, N.Y. from Aug. 4-7 were Andrew Allen (50 free, 24.41, 100 free (54.75), and 100 butterfly (59.28); Nina Levine (100/200 butterfly (1:05.83/2:23.62), 200-400 individual medley 2:30.08/5:19.94); Emma Schulman, 50, 100 and 200 free, (27.59/1:00.47/2:10.84), 100 backstroke (1:10.64), and 100 butterfly (1:07.38); and Emma Wagner, 50, 100, 200 and 400 free (27.85, 1:01.04, 2:16.47, 4:46.00), 100 and 200 backstroke (1:09.14/2:27.52).

Swimmers competing in the New England Senior Championships at Brown University July 14-17 were: Colin Allen, Abigail Carroll, Trent Levasseur, Alex Tjie, and Kasey Gamache, whose time of 1:04.74 in the 100 butterfly qualified her for the USA Swimming Futures Championships. Evan Allen and Maxwell Bilsbury swam in the New England Championships, ages 14 and under. Allen competed in the 100 back and 50 fly and Bilsbury in the 50 free.

Molly Fitzpatrick of the Executive and Georgetown University competed in the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb., the week of June 26-July 3. Fitzpatrick, 20, competed in a field of 110 American women who were vying for spots on the U.S. Olympic team. Fitzpatrick finished with a best time of 2:34.29.
