Milford Hoop Camp
The Milford High School boys basketball team will host the Milford Hoop Camp from July 28-Aug. 1 at the Milford Middle School. The camp will run from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Thursday and from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday. Cost is $125 per participant and everyone must have insurance. The camp is open to players ages 8-16. Sneakers are required and everyone gets a T-shirt. For more details, call 672-7140.
Milford coaching position
Milford High School is seeking qualified applicants for the position of assistant Alpine ski coach. All interested candidates should visit the district website at www.milfordk12.org and click on human resources for an application.
Souhegan High School is looking for coaches for the following positions: freshman field hockey, assistant varsity girls soccer, head junior varsity girls soccer, freshman boys soccer, and freshman volleyball (potential opening). The ideal candidate will be an energetic and enthusiastic individual with a competitive background as a player or coach, be well organized and responsible, communicate well with high school age individuals, and have an understanding of the role of competitive athletics in the secondary school setting. Duties include competition and practice planning, organization and execution, roster and equipment management, fostering the emotional and character development of our student-athletes, supervising the transportation to and from practices and games, and serving as a role model for our students. Kids Fun Runs
The Greater Derry Track Club’s Kid’s Summer Fun Run program is under way for youths ages two and up and the series continues on consecutive Thursdays through July 31. Registration is at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Pinkerton Academy track in Derry. Greater Derry Track Club members will lead stretching exercises and offer running tips. NHTI hosting camps
Play On! Soccer Camp will be held at New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord from July 14-18 for boys and girls in grades 4-10 with under the direction of NHTI men’s soccer coach Don Welford and St. Paul’s girls coach, and Derek Johnson. Also, the remaining Paul Hogan Basketball Camp that is still on the schedule is the 20th annual Specialty Basketball Camp July 20-24.For more information about Play On! The University of New Hampshire’s Wildcat Football Camp will take place Sunday, July 13 through Thursday, July 17, from 5:30-8 p.m. nightly at the UNH football facilities for youths grades six through 12. The UNH coaching staff, players, select area high school coaches and other New England college coaches will provide skills instruction. It is a full-contact camp. Each athlete will receive a free camp t-shirt.
Grades 6-9 will practice separately from grades 10-12. There will be one hour devoted to offense and one hour devoted to defense each day, with kicking instruction taking place from 5:30-6 p.m. Registration and camper check-in will be from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on July 13, at the Paul Sweet Oval (indoor track) inside the UNH Field House, followed immediately by the first session at 6 p.m.
Camp will close with a full-contact scrimmage July 17, at approximately 6:30 p.m. There will be certified athletic trainers in attendance before, during and after all practice sessions. Camp tuition will be $180, including a $30 non-refundable administrative fee.
