Coaches vs. Cancer
The Milford High School boys and girls basketball teams are teaming up with the American Cancer Society to host a Coaches vs. Cancer Night on Feb. 6 at the high school. Games against Souhegan begin at 3:30 with the freshmen boys game, followed by the varsity girls at 5 p.m. and the varsity boys at 6:30 p.m. Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that empowers coaches, their teams and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer. Fans are encouraged on Feb. 6 to attend a game and donate $1 to purchase a “Wall of Hope” card in memory of a loved one or somebody battling this disease.
Milford looking for coaches
Milford High School is seeking qualified applicants for the positions of varsity boys tennis coach and varsity boys soccer coach. All interested candidates should go to www.milfordk12.org/ and click on Human Resources for an application.
Merrimack High School has an immediate opening for a varsity football head coach. The coach will oversee all aspects of the program. The Northeast Junior High Football League (NJHFL) is currently accepting new members for the 2015 season. The NJHFL offers three distinct levels of football and cheerleading for those athletes in grades two through eight.
The league also holds its own cheer competition that is open both to league members and nonmembers.
The NJHFL has 13 organizations, representing 29 teams from southern New Hampshire and northeastern Massachusetts.
