April 14: Milford 14,
Pembroke 9

The Spartans had a big second quarter and held off Pembroke in the second half to open the season with its first win in Division II.

Weston Pare led the way with five goals and two assists while Max Urda added three goals and one assist. Liam Shea chipped in with two goals and one assist while Tyler Duball and Zak Keenan had two goals apiece.

Gabe Chevalier, Jamie Sroka, Ben Noble and Andrew Schoolcraft each had an assist while Adam Audet made 14 saves. Nick Skinner and Dylan Salisbury played well on defense, along with Schoolcraft.


April 13: Milford 8, Souhegan 2

Stephanie Bishop went 4 for 4 with a run and two RBIs as the Spartans cruised in their season opener. Julia Mazzeo went 2 for 4 with a pair of triples and an RBI while Rachel Nelson had two hits, including a triple.

Delaney Parker picked up the win in the circle, allowing just three hits with four strikeouts over five innings. Hailey Yabroudy took the loss for the Sabers, who were led offensively by Sam Speer (2 for 2 with a walk).


April 13: Souhegan 7, Milford 0

The Spartans struggled but Dana Mikkelsen put in a valiant effort, falling 9-8 at No. 2 singles.


April 13: Souhegan 8, Milford 1

Alan Brooks picked up the only win for the Spartans at No. 6 singles.



April 13: Souhegan 11,
Milford 5

The Sabers put together a 15-hit attack, led by Bryce Reagan’s four hits, including two doubles and two RBIs. Max Benevides added two hits, including a two-run homer, while Thomas Bennet (three hits), Stevie Upton (two hits, two RBIs), and Mike Mancini (two hits, one RBI) also contributed.

Jason Blais’ three run homer in the fifth led the way for the Spartans. Saber lefty starter Owen Batchelder picked up the win while Joey Grassett earned a save in relief.


April 13: Souhegan 10,
Exeter 9 (OT)

Brendan Cray scored with about a minute left in overtime, assisted by Joe Nutting, to make it a successful season opener for the Sabers at Bill Ball Stadium. Trevor Barrett had three goals to lead the Sabers, while Cray had a pair of goals and an assist. Nutting added two goals and three assists. Foster Burnley, Dante Savo and Zach Bossi each had a goal while Alex Burnley had 13 saves in goal.


April 14: Souhegan 19,
Concord 4

Kate Bermingham (one assist) and Emma Estabrook scored four goals apiece to lead the Sabers to a big win over the Crimson Tide.

Souhegan led 11-1 at halftime, getting three goals from Brigid Casey and two goals from Sammi Jay. Brittany Ireland and Hailey Johnson had a goal and two assists apiece while Katie Almeida had a goal and a helper.

Abby Cranney had three assists while Katie Csaey, Gwen Hale and Kaylin Forest each had a goal. Meaghan Allard made four saves.


April 13: Souhegan 3,
John Stark 2

The Sabers pulled out the season-opening win with a 15-11 triumph in the deciding fifth game. It was 25-12, 25-16, 23-25, 20-25 for the first four, and Ely Marciano led the locals in service points.

Also playing well for Souhegan were Alex Craven, Josh Anson and David Weiczerak.



April 13: Littleton 8, WLC 1

Maddy Bacon picked up the only Warrior win at No. 1 singles, topping Littleton’s Phoebe Lahout, 8-2. Taylor Webb made it interesting at No. 2 singles in bowing 8-4.

April 14: Conant 9, WLC 0

The Warriors fell to the Orioles despite some solid efforts from their players.

Maddy Bacon dropped the No. 1 singles match, 8-2, to Shannon Bennett despite playing well, while Suzie Lemire also played well in an 8-4 loss at No. 4 singles.
