AMHERST – The Souhegan High School boys lacrosse team scored just once in the second half Monday and fell to Pinkerton Academy 9-5 in Division I action.
After going into halftime tied 4-4, the Sabers fell behind by two in the third quarter and went more than 15 minutes without a goal to end the game.
Trevor Barrett led the way for Souhegan (9-2) with two goals and Joe Nutting also had two goals. Brendan Cray had a goal and an assist while Alex Burnley made 16 saves.
Zach Bossi added two assists and Thomas Lott had a helper.
Pinkerton (9-3) got five goals from Todd Biletter while Jack Hanaway had a goal and three assists.
The loss was the second in a row for the Sabers, after they opened the season by winning nine in a row.
