Four Milford swimmers recently competed in championship meets representing the Executive Swim Club. Aidan Daudier, 14, competed in the New England 14 and Under Championships over the weekend of July 23-26 at Harvard University. Daudier swam in seven events, highlighted by his 200-meter backstroke (2:20.60), in which he finished in sixth place. He also had top finishes in the 800 freestyle (9:28.45), 100 butterfly (1:05.12), 100 backstroke (1:05.96) and 200 IM (2:23.81). Swimming the butterfly leg of the 400 medley relay, his team finished in third place overall. His times qualified him to swim in the Eastern Zone Championships in Richmond, Va., over the weekend of Aug. 6-10. The meet featured the top swimmers in the Northeast area. Daudier competed in the 100 and 200 backstroke, 200 and 400 IM, and 100 butterfly.
Katelyn Rakiey, 13, also competed in the Harvard meet, swimming a best time and dropping four seconds in the 100 freestyle.
Kaitlyn McManus, 18, and Zoe Daudier, 16, both competed at M.I.T. on Aug. 2-3. Daudier swam both the 50 and 100 freestyle events, while McManus, won the 100 breaststroke in a field of over 40 swimmers. Her time was a best of 1:17.48. She also finished second in the 200 breaststroke, swimming a best by four seconds (2:55.13). McManus will be a freshman at Canisius College in September.
