> Amherst youth earns 2nd at Elks Soccer Shoot

Eight area youths won their respective age divisions at the 16th annual Elks Greater Nashua Soc­cer Shoot at the Main Dunstable Road Soccer Fields in Nashua.

Max Lopez, 12, of Nashua, won the Boys U-14 Grid Division scor­ing 43 points, the highest score in the Elks Soccer Shoot. Ethan Emata, 12, of Nashua won runner-up honors with 39 points and Jesse Hantula, 13, scored 35 to place third.

Nashua’s Joona Hantulla, 10, won the Boys U-12 Grid Division and 11-year-old Chuck Wason, of Am­herst, was the runnerup. Karsten Lemire of Nashua placed third.

The Boys U-10 Five-Goal Division was won by 8-year-old Maxim Ma­kar, of Nashua, with Nashuan Tyler Leatherman winning the runnerup spot. Leonel Lopez place third

The Boys U-8 Five-Goal Division was won by Alexander Sennik, 7, of Nashua with Nashuan Alex Lopez, also 7, in second. Shane Lemire, 7, placed third.

Carly Morse, 12, of Nashua, scored 40 points to win the Girls U-14 Grid Divsion and 11-year-old Alexandria Kapopoulos, of Nash­ua, won the Girls U-12 Grid Divi­sion, scoring 39 points. Nashuan Abigal O’Malley was second.

Meanwhile, Samantha Pellerin, 9, of Hudson, won the Girls U-10 Five Goal Division and Alexa Lemire of Nashua finished second.

Bianca Sadaski, 6, of Nashua, won the Girls U-8 Five-Goal Divi­son with 6-year-old Elsiella Sados­ki earning runnerup honors.

The eight first-place finishers, who earned a gold medallion and ribbon, will will now compete against other Elks area Soccer Shoot champions from throughout the state in Portsmouth on Oct. 16 for the 2016 NH State Elks Soccer Shoot Championship.

New Hampshire winners will advance to the Elks Regional 1 Soc­cer Shoot in November.

Southern NH Cavaliers offering Mini Mite hockey

The Southern New Hamspshire Cavaliers will have a Mini Mite limited travel hockey program for boys and girls ages 5-8 years old.

There are two 12-week sessions, or register for the full year.

Southerns NH Cavaliers accepting hockey players

The Southern NH Cavaliers are now accepting players at the Mites, Squirts and Bantam levels. The teams will have two practices per week, and 35 games during the year.
