> Hiscoe throws 5 TD passes during Milford Academy win
Milford native J.T. Hiscoe threw five touchdown passes on Sunday during Milford (N.Y.) Academy’s 39-21 victory over Wagner University.
Hiscoe finished 9 of 18 for 216 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions. Brandon Ricketts was Hiscoe’s favorite target, as he hauled in six passes for 165 yards and four scores.
Banuskevich earns spot on MASCAC honor roll for PSU
Plymouth State running back and Milford native Mitch Banuskevich was on the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) honor roll this week for his performance in PSU’s season-opening 20-7 victory over Castleton University on Saturday.
Banuskevich, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound running back, accumulated 101 yards from scrimmage out of the Panther backfield. He rushed for 52 yards on 15 carries and caught three passes for 49 yards. He also scored a touchdown from 1-yard out on PSU’s first possession to give the Panthers an early lead.
PSU (1-1) will make its home debut Saturday at Currier Field at 1 p.m. against Mount Ida College.
Knight makes first start at quarterback for UNH in loss
Amherst native Trevor Knight made his first career start as the UNH quarterback Saturday night, but struggled to find a rhythm against FBS-level San Diego State in the Wildcats’ season-opening 31-0 defeat.
Knight, a sophomore, was 4 of 16 for 37 passing yards.
UNH opens Wildcat Stadium on Saturday against Holy Cross. The game, which starts at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on NESN/American Sports Network, will be followed by fireworks.
