Souhegan girls soccer shuts out Milford, 2-0

The Souhegan girls soccer team im­proved to 5-6-2 on Tuesday behind two goals from Emma Estabrook and 21 saves by goalkeeper Lily Batchelder to earn a 2-0 victory over visiting Milford.

The Spartans fell to 7-5-1.

Souhegan 2, ConVal 2 (OT)

Trailing 2-0 late in the second half on Oct. 6, Souhegan’s Savannah Behn scored with five minutes left and Maggie Dix tied it up with seven seconds left to force overtime.

Neither team could break the dead­lock in the extra session.

Hollis Brookline 2, Milford 0

Hollis Brookline improved to 10-2 on Friday with goals from Theresa DeMaio (assisted by Torrey Cook) and Kenzie Day. Goalkeeper Olivia Cleghorn col­lected her eighth shutout of the season with eight saves.

Milford fell to 7-4-1.

Portsmouth Christian 2, Wilton Lyndeborough 1

Portsmouth Christian scored on a di­rect kick at the 60 minute mark to snap a 1-1 tie and drop the Warriors to 5-8 on Tuesday.

Mackenzie Parker-Christou scored for the Warriors, assisted by Naomi Wight. Abby LeBlanc had five saves in the Wil­ton-Lyndeborough net.

Boys Soccer

ConVal 4, Souhegan 1

Souhegan fell to 6-4-1 on Friday de­spite goalkeeper Will Facques making seven saves. The lone goal came off the foot of Thomas Hornor (assisted by Kee­lan MacKenzie).

Hollis Brookline 2, Milford 0

Hollis Brookline (4-8) got goals from Kyle Simpson and Dale Jacobs in the shutout win over Milford (2-9-1) on Fri­day. Jonathan Brackett and Joey Dias got assists, while Sky Jacobs played well. Ryan Coutu made 12 saves in net.

Girls Volleyball

Milford 3, John Stark 0

The Spartans improved to 7-4 on Oct. 5 with set scores of 25-10, 25-16 and 25- 17. Emily Flaherty (four aces, four digs, 17 assists), Maddy Wheeler (seven aces, three kills), Olivia Blanchet (three aces, eight digs) and Gabby Monico (one block, nine kills) paced a good all-around ef­fort.

Field Hockey

Souhegan 3, Sanborn 2 (OT)

Souhegan improved to 11-2 on Tuesday behind an overtime goal from Mckenzie Robinson assisted by Kace Lindsey. The other two goals were unassisted and came from Lindsey and Brigid Casey. Goalkeeper Maddie Maurais had six saves.

Goffstown 0, Milford 0 OT

Milford (4-8-1) got strong defense by Maya Flores and Lexis Marois and strong midfield play by Sara Pickett and Lauren Dishong on Tuesday. Maddin Dodier had six saves in net.
