Milford races past Trinity
Milford’s backfield combined for 291 yards and five touchdowns and the Spartans cruised to a 35-6 victory over Trinity in Division II football action on Friday night in Manchester.
Maverick Dodier led the way with 145 rushing yards and a score, while Tegan Vitali accounted for 99 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Josh Shaw, Owen Clary and T.J. Anderson also found the end zone for the Spartans, who bolstered their postseason chances and improved to 5-2 on the campaign.
"One good thing about our offense is we don’t key on one guy," Milford coach Keith Jones said. "We just try to take what the defense is giving us."
The passing attack was also clicking against Trinity (1-6), as Zach King completed 10 of 17 passes for 210 yards. Most of those ended up in the hands of Ryan Camirand, who hauled in eight passes for 160 yards.
Despite the victory, Jones thought his Spartans left some points on the field against the overmatched Pioneers (1-6). Milford led 21-0 at the break.
"We played a sloppy game, as far as penalties," Jones said. "I think we had four touchdowns called back."
Milford will host Sanborn (3-4) – which is coming off a last-minute 28-21 win over Souhegan – on Friday at 7 p.m.
