Baseball

Milford 7, Laconia 1

Milford’s Tyler Gendron threw a complete game May 3, giving up one run on three hits, while getting two hits and an RBI. Jamie Pare had two hits, including a two run home run in the fourth inning and finished with three RBIs.

Milford 9, HB 8 (8 innings)

Jacob Wilder had three hits and an RBI May 4 to lead a 13-hit attack for the Spartans. Weston Pare, Nick Cauley, and Tyler Gendron each had two hits, with Gendron homering. Ryan Flaherty had a big two-run double.

Nick Cauley got the win in relief of starter Jamie Pare, who gave up two earned runs over 3 2/3 innings, fanning four.

For the Cavs, who sent the game to extra innings with a run in the bottom of the seventh, Tyler MacDormand had multiple hits while Nate Corsetti and Jack Belanger pitched well.

Souhegan 10, Pelham 0

The Sabers sent 13 to the plate in the first inning to score eight runs on May 4, highlighted by Bryce Reagan’s two-run homer. Alec Burns also homered for the locals and pitched along with Max Leonard and Tucker Aiello.

Windham 13, Milford 2

Ricky DeBernardo hit a triple, scored a run and went four innings on the mound, but the Spartans dropped to 3-3 on the season Saturday. Jacob Wilder contributed an RBI single, while sophomores Sam Santaniello and Max Fortin each doubled for their first varsity hit. DeBernardo surrendered six hits over four innings and struck out three.

Milford 5, Sanborn 3

After a slow start Monday, Milford scored three runs in the fifth inning and two more in the seventh inning to pull out the win. Kolbe Heiple was the starting pitcher, going four innings and only giving up one hit. Ryan Flaherty and Jacob Wilder had two hits each. Tyler Gendron (triple, two RBIs) and Sam Santaniello, who had a big hit in the seventh inning to take the lead, were big contributors in the win.

Softball

Milford 17, Trinity 0

The Spartans made quick work of Trinity on May 3. Delaney Parker picked up her fourth win of the season allowing only one hit. Playing well on offense were Jen Carson (2 for 4, three RBIs), Paige Delier (3 for 3, four RBIs), and Amanda Atkinson (1 for 2, two RBIs).

Milford 5, Windham 1

In their first game of the day on May 4, Steph Bishop scored on a walk and Christina Arnoldy homered for the difference. Bishop also homered while Delaney Parker picked up the win in the circle, checking the Jaguars on six hits, fanning four.

Milford 16, West 1

The Spartans cruised in their May 4 nightcap with a 16-hit attack, paced by Jen Carson’s two hits, including a homer, with four RBIs and Bishop’s homer and three RBIs. Pitchers Carley Holtshouser, Amanda Atkinson and Jenna De Angelis combined on a one-hitter.

Milford 10, Sanborn 7

The Spartans stay undefeated in a close game. The winning pitcher was Delaney Parker who went 4 2/3 innings while striking out seven. Leading the offense were Amanda Atkinson (2 for 4, run, RBI), Jenna De Angelis (2 for 4, two RBIs), Jen Carson (3 for 4, two runs), Stephanie Bishop (2 for 4, three RBIs, two doubles, two runs) and Parker (2 for 4, two RBIs).

Boys Lacrosse

Laconia 13, Milford 4

Owen Hutchinson, Gavin Urda, Owen Clary, and Cam O’Shaughnessy scored for the Spartans while Collin Cederberg and Maverick Dodier each had an assist. Tim Gagnon had 10 saves.

Souhegan 6, Concord 5

The Sabers moved to 6-2 on the season on Monday. Concord was up 4-3 at half and the game was tied at four going into the fourth quarter. Nick Jordan (goal, assist) and Foster Burnley (goal) scored in the fourth to make it 6-4, while Alex Burnley was brilliant in net making nine saves.

ConVal 18, Milford 2

The Spartans lost their second game in a row Monday. Collin Cederberg netted the two Milford goals with Josh Shaw leading the defense.

Girls Lacrosse

Souhegan 16, Dover 2

The Sabers improved to 9-1, led by Brigid Casey’s four goals, along with three goals and two assists each by Taylor Clark and Sammi Jay. Abby Cranney had two goals while others figuring in the scoring included Izzy Aiello and Savannah Behn (goal, assist each), Emma Estabrook and McKenzie Robinson (goal apiece) and Clare Woodford (one assist). Meaghan Allard had six saves in goal.

Girls Tennis

Souhegan 6, Goffstown 2

The Sabers took the final four singles matches after dropping the first two to take control on May 2. Singles winners for Souhegan from No. 3 on included Lila Morgan (8-0), Sophie Knight (8-6), Zoe Garvey (8-0), and Abby Tesconi (8-2). The Saber one-two doubles teams clinched things, Anna Redway-Morgan at No. 1 (8-4) and Knight-Eliza Cullin (8-0).

Souhegan 8, St. Thomas 0

The Sabers hit into their third win in a row on May 3. In singles No. 1 Anna Redway (8-6), No. 2 Eliza Cullen (8-1), No. 3 Lila Morgan (8-1), No. 4 Sophie Knight (default), No. 5 Abby Tesconi (8-4), and No. 6 Claudia Cavanaugh (8-6) won matches. In doubles, Redway-Morgan (8-2) and No. 2 Cullen-Knight (8-0) won.

Souhegan 7, Milford 0

The Sabers enjoyed a perfect day on May 4, with Anna Redway (8-1), Eliza Cullen (8-0), Lila Morgan (8-0), Sophie Knight (8-0) all getting wins. The Spartans defaulted on two singles matches.

Hollis Brookline 6, Souhegan 3

The Cavaliers won four at singles and two at doubles to beat the Sabers Friday.

Winning for Souhegan were No. 3 Lila Morgan (8-2) and No. 5 Zoe Garvey (8-5) in singles, while Sophia Knight and Eliza Cullen won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles.

Trinity 5, Milford 3

The Spartans had to default a match at No. 6 singles in the loss Friday. They did get wins by Sabrina Brown at No. 2 singles (8-3), Hannah Harding at No. 4 (8-5) and the No. 1 doubles team of Katie and Sabrina Brown (9-8).

ConVal 7, Milford 2

The Spartans are still looking for their first win after a tough match with ConVal on Monday. Getting the win in singles was No. 4 Sydney Kolasinski (8-6) and in doubles it was the team of No. 2 Kolasinski-Kami Peterson (8-2).

Boys Volleyball

Souhegan 3, Coe-Brown 2

The Sabers prevailed in the final set Friday to earn their first victory of the season.

Track and Field

Souhegan second

The Sabers totaled 60 points, behind winner Merrimack Valley (88) but ahead of Coe-Brown (59.5) and Kennett (30.5).

Leading the way for Souhegan with two wins was Elise Lambert in the 300 hurdles (50.36) and high jump (5-0). Other Saber winners were Madeleine Hunt in the 800 (2:22.58, she was also second in the 1,600) and Trinity Zimmerman in the long jump (14-1).

Milford trio sets school record

Milford’s distance medley team of Alex Matsis, Robyn Krafft, Emily Sullivan and Rebecca Durham was first with a school record time of 12:46.20 during the Clipper Relays on Thursday. The discus relay team of Krafft, Autumn Ciardelli-Zaryckyj and Sydney Orsorio also set a school record during a third-place showing.

The Spartans’ shot put relay team of Brenna Degroot, Ciardelli-Zaryckyj and Orsorio was second.

Warriors take fifth

The Wilton-Lyndeborough boys and girls teams each finished fifth Saturday at a five-team meet at Belmont.

Jacob Yurcak was second in the high jump (5-6), Samuel Bailey (39-6) was second and Owen McGettigan (32-5) was sixth in the shot put. Bailey also took third in the javelin (121-4) and fourth in the discus (97-0) for the Warriors, who also turned in a second-place showing in the 4Ã-100 relay (54.06).

For the girls, Emma Cross took second in the 100 hurdles (19.87) and third in the shot put (22-3), while Mackenzie Parker-Christou was fourth in the 100 (15.10), Rama Koudsi was sixth in the 200 (31.72) and Brooklyn Zielie tied for sixth in the discus (52-11).

Krafft dominates discus

Milford’s Robyn Krafft dominated in the discus at 116 feet, 7 inches – nearly 20 feet better than second – at the Kiwanis Freshman-Sophomore meet Saturday in Salem.
