Hollis Brookline High School Highlights


Jan. 14: Winnacunnet 4, HB-Derryfield 3

The Warriors scored two goals early in the third period, including one on a penalty shot by Michael Chiasson, but Winnacunnet’s Casey Glynn beat HBDS goalie Zach Goyette for the winning goal with 3:56 left to play.

Max Hatheway had a first-period goal for the Warriors and Allen Mello scored on a breakaway to open the third period and make it a one-goal game.


Jan. 15: HB 58, ConVal 55 (0T)

Matt Fothergill scored 23 points and the Cavaliers rallied to outscore ConVal by a combined 25-11 in the fourth quarter and overtime to improve to 2-3. Trevor Bowler added 10 points and Matt Bonnette added nine.


Jan. 16: Bishop Brady 54, HB 34

Besides the first quarter, the Cavaliers kept up with the undefeated Bishop Brady squad for the most of the game. Unfortunately, that first frame made all the difference, as Hollis Brookline fell.

Cassandra Staplefeld provided most of the offense for the Cavs, contributing 22 points in the loss.


Jan. 18: Cavs run at UNH

The HB boys and girls team competed at the morning session at the University of New Hampshire, with both teams finishing sixth (girls, 15 points; boys, 14).

Pauline Zimmerman led the girls with a third place in the 600-meter run and Zimmerman teamed with Celeste Fetter, Lauren Cole and Emilie Newsham to take fifth in the 4×400. Madylin Partridge came in fourth in the 1,500 while Grace Anneser was fifth in the 55 hurdles and Amanda McDonough came in fifth in the shot put.

Evan Porter led the way for the boys, coming in second in the 55 hurdles, while Guillem Pujadas was fourth in the 300 and fifth in the 55. Parker Law, Jack Kearns, Jason Landolt and Matt Harmon finished fifth in the 4×160.
