Hollis Brookline High School Highlights
Jan. 31: Cavs fifth
at Capitol City
Hollis Brookline finished fifth among 18 teams at the Capitol City Classic in Concord, compiling 124.5 points. Bishop Hendricken finished first with 271.5 points, followed by Noble with 199 points. Alvirne finished tied for 11th while Merrimack placed 14th.
Kayne Robert (195) paced Hollis Brookline with a third place finish, with Nathaniel Lindsay (132), Christian Lopez (152), and Clement Sherwood (220) placing fourth. Nick McPherson (145) and Wyatt Farwell (170) each placed fifth for the Cavaliers, while teammates Savannah Eliza (113) and Garrett Klausner (120) finished sixth.
Taylor Thyne led Alvirne with a second place finish at 120. Evan Manning (182) finished third for the Broncos and Cam McClure (106) finished fifth.
Mitchell McMahon was a bright spot for Merrimack, finishing second at 160. Teammate Kyle Newman (145) placed sixth.
Jan. 31: Boys, girls
The Hollis Brookline boys and girls teams both finished third at a three-team meet. Pinkerton won both events, with Winnacunnet finishing second.
Sara Solon led the girls with a second-place finsh in the 100 breast and a third-place finish in the 400 free.
Teammate Kelly MacFarlane placed second in the 100 butterfly and third in 200 IM.
Nicole Hall also had a top-three finish, placing second in the 100 free.
Matt Falcone led the boys with second-place finishes in the 100 butterfly and 100 back. Austin McCalmont placed second in the 200 IM and Amit Eshed placed third in the 100 breast.
Feb. 3: HB 54,
Oyster River 42
The Cavs got big offensive games from Trevor Bowler and Matt Fothergill, who each had 14 points. Nick Fothergill also was impressive, with 13 points in the team’s fifth win of the season. Hollis Brookline’s offense struggled out of the gate, only scoring 18 points in the first half, but came alive in the second half with 36.
